Tara's Story
Hide and seek anyone, you hide, I’ll search. To make it more fun, I’ll pretend to be a monster, a vampire who wants to suck your blood.
Is this man for real? He plays, my daddy hits. I run to hide with nothing but butterflies in my stomach, my friend, she’s here right by my side. Oh no, we’re found and we’re tied. Vampires wear black capes and under that cape he puts me. To begin to suck on my neck and tell me he’ll teach me how to become a big girl. Would I like that? "Well yeah." Now I’m his vampiress, and vampires teach their vampiress everything, they are supposed to suck on this and not his neck.
Then he too can suck and touch and feel anywhere. Because he is like a king who always gets his way. I’ll give you everything and anything, just as a king gives his queens. Your own horses and a great big tree house, ice cream forever and candy, too. I’ll teach you how to be a big girl so all the boys will like you. I’ll be your daddy. Since he’s never around, no time for him to be teaching you.
Oh GOD are you there, this is wrong, it has gone too far and has gone on too long! Please GOD make him go away, I don’t want to play.
I prayed for months for this man to die, because I could not see any other way for him to stop. He started out with me and my friend, tried to get her older sister and on to a girl who helped on a ranch. He was caught in an act and ended up dying of a heart attack.
I don’t want to play…I know from that day forward I didn’t want to play anymore! I pushed my sisters away, I would run off by myself or I would hide so no one could find me. I began drinking and smoking; that took away the memories and numbed the pain. I blamed my dad and sometimes I still do. Anyone who has gone through this knows that healing from this hurts.
-------Healing Through-------
I hear the Lord speaking to me; in the middle of my releasing hurt and anger and scared feelings. RUN, comes to my mind, then Jesus tells me get on your knees and praise me for this pain. I humbly praise and ask for healing. He calms me.
He says He is taking me through this, it’s OK to HEAL.
God please grant me the courage to heal.
Oh Lord hear my cry. Lord without you I fail. You say you give peace and serenity ad give us courage to change. Please God give me courage, the courage to climb my hill.
Thank you God for the Courage to heal.
Many tests and trials will come on my way up. Some days seem lost, not sure how I feel.
Feel, they say, go ahead cry. Don’t you want to heal? God help me, give me this courage, this COURAGE TO HEAL.
I say to myself, give yourself time and let yourself heal, do the things that you’ve learned. Those are tools and basic skills that help you to begin to climb and to have the courage to heal.
Christ, take my mind, my body, my will. God please give me courage, the courage to heal. This is the one thing you’ll get good at. Practice, press on, run towards the goal and with courage God gives us. The continuance to heal.
This is your next stop. To walk by faith, not by sight. Keep your eyes on Jesus and he
will help you. He will give you the courage to heal.
